Battlespace Awareness is the ability to understand dispositions and intentions, as well as the characteristics and conditions, of the operational environment.  It leverages all sources of information to include Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, Meteorological, and Oceanographic.

The threat to national security has been evolving rapidly and will continue to transform and our intelligence, reconnaissance, surveillance systems must evolve to meet the changing nature of the threat.
