Practical Perspectives on Building and Operating Government Clouds

Join AFEI for the Government Cloud Computing Executive Seminar – an intensive, interactive half-day focused on practical aspects of today’s Government cloud computing initiatives.

The session will address how Government agencies view their internal cloud efforts, how agencies are approaching building internal and external clouds.  The session also covers how Government agencies will use “the cloud”, what their integration strategies are, and how they will secure data in the cloud environment.

The seminar will be moderated by David Linthicum of Booz Allen Hamilton.  Mr. Linthicum is an author of many books and is much sought after as a keynote speaker at many IT conferences.

A top-notch faculty of industry experts and government practitioners will discuss the challenges of the cloud implementations and demonstrate how this new IT strategy is being applied in government organizations.

Practical Perspectives on Building and Operating Government Clouds

This program is designed to cut through the hype and get to the heart of the matter - building and using Government clouds.

Attendees engage in discussions on how Government agencies view their internal cloud efforts, and how they are approaching building internal and external clouds.   What are their plans for implementing Clouds within their organizations and what impacts will that have on their external partners?

Explore with them how they are approaching components of cloud computing such as SaaS and SOA, utility computing, web services, platform services, managed services, and Internet and legacy integration.

Talk directly with those in charge of planning for cloud computing inside their agencies on whether this is the best strategy for the Federal enterprise IT and what standards may be needed.

Learn what their priorities are regarding how they will use “the cloud”, what their integration strategies are, and how they will secure data in the cloud environment.
