Technology is a focus of the Administration's 2010 budget:

"New technology has the potential to drive innovation in Government by making it possible to connect Government employees to one another and to the American people, thereby enabling the sharing of information and expertise, and the solving of problems in new and more effective ways."

The Analytical Perspectives that accompanies the budget contains analyses designed to highlight specified subject areas, including crosscutting initiatives.  Under Crosscutting Programs is Section 9 - Leveraging the Power of Technology to Transform Government.  This section addresses Government 2.0, IT policy, and improving innovation, efficiency and effectiveness of Federal IT.

Cloud-computing is presented as "a convenient, on-demand model for network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction."

National Dialogue on IT Solutions Yields Many Ideas and Suggestions

Many innovative ideas and thoughts were submitted from vendors, thinkers and consumers during the national online dialogue on ideas and approaches for the Recovery.gov web site.

The key question was: What ideas, tools, and approaches can make Recovery.gov a place where the public can monitor the expenditure and use of recovery funds?

The National Academy of Public Administration is evaluating the comments and will present them to the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board for consideration.
